Tanker ANGEL 33 abandoned, adrift in South Pacific
Product tanker ANGEL 33 was reported abandoned and adrift some 400 nm NE of eastern Papua New Guinea, South Pacific, as of evening Jul 16. The tanker is unlit, navigational lights are off. Last ship’s AIS position is dated May 19. The ship sailed into the area from Kaohsiung, probably she was engaged in bunkering fishing vessels. No news on ship crew fate, the character of the accident, etc., awaiting details, and updates.
